For 10 Years now I’ve been baking this salt dough into cute memories of dog paw prints, little hands, and Christmas shapes. It’s a Christmas tradition I always look forward to. This is always a fun project to let the kids help with!

Cinnamon Christmas Ornaments: A Salt Dough Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Salt
- 1 Cup Warm Water
- 1 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsp Cinnamon Ground
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
- Mix the flour, cinnamon and salt in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
- Slowly Incorporate the water until you get a soft dough. Knead it long enough just to bring it all together and then roll out to 1/4" on to a floured surface.
- Use any cookie-cutter shapes you would like or get creative and use your kid's hand prints or even your dog's paw prints. You can use a metal straw to make holes at the top of the ornament shape to string ribbon through after they have baked.
- Place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 1 1/2- 2 hours until they are slightly soft to the touch but still firm.
- Allow to cool and then decorate by painting, coloring, or just hanging up with ribbon. Have fun and get creative!
